Finally, couture from our favorite Canadian divorcée. Avril Lavigne, 26, is saying "L8R" to Kohl's and taking her Abbey Dawn juniors line (and its tired pop punk aesthetic) to the big time. She's talking an exclusive e-commerce site, boutique wholesaling and accompanying inflated prices, reports Womens Wear Daily.
What Gwen Stefani did with L.A.M.B. is a difficult model to replicate, but Lavigne is banking on fashion success to follow her upcoming album, which drops in March 2011. Expect T-shirts plastered with such revelations as "What the Hell" (which is, conveniently, also the title of her first single). She's operating under the manufacturer Blank Generation, whose co-founder Travis Anderson states, "We're trying to establish Abbey Dawn as a brand above and beyond Avril Lavigne the personality." First year sales estimates are expected to come in just short of $20 million.
If you like skulls on wallets, handbags, swimwear, shoes and loungewear, then you're in luck. Or for the sk8r boi in your life, the pop tart is putting her name on hella boss men's tees, hoodies and hats. In case you didn't get enough neon and animal print in 2004, then this is your chance.
