*Runway: Gucci

Gucci is a brand who's always been famous for it's luxury and sex appeal.

Inspired by ’80s fashion icon Tina Chow, Gucci’s Fall collection was all about “a glittering, glamorous time, when going out was a way of life.” The legwear were black skintight thigh-high boots disappearing into the hemline of tunic tops. Or leggings patchworked in suede, leather, and patent coming down in the opposite direction to cover the foot. Much leather and sequins, chic fabrics and modern styles make the collection really memorable.

The Avril Lavigne Corollary

In commemoration of this reportorial approach, I would like to add the "Avril Lavigne" corollary to "opinions of the shape of the earth differ" journalism.

"Opinions of the shape of the earth differ" journalism was given its name by Paul Krugman in a 2000 op-ed about George W. Bush's alleged campaign trail falsehoods. "If a presidential candidate were to declare that the earth is flat, you would be sure to see a news analysis under the headline ''Shape of the Planet: Both Sides Have a Point.'' After all, the earth isn't perfectly spherical," Krugman wrote.

Avril Lavigne in News Notes

Avril Lavigne filed for divorce from her husband, Sum 41 frontman Deryck Jason Whibley Friday (October 9), in Los Angeles, California. The pair, who have been married for three years, have no children together. Lavigne cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split…

Avril Lavigne 'Denies New Romance Claims'

Avril Lavigne hasn't moved on as quickly as some media reports have made out.

It has been claimed the 'Girlfriend' punker had already got herself a new boyfriend, less than a month after she split from husband Deryck Whibley.

The Sum 41 rocker was seen holding hands with a unnamed female, and reports soon suggested Avril had also found new love in the form of billionaire Justin Murdock. But Lavigne's rep tells GossipCop that the stories are "totally 100 per cent not true."

Avril Lavigne's ex caught with new love

A mere week after Avril Lavigne filed for divorce from Derek Whibley – the Sum 41 frontman was spotted in a heavy breathing session with new love interest Hanna Beth Merjos.

The two were caught on camera by TMZ.com openly kissing his in at Tattoo Mania in Hollywood on Monday night.

Avril Lavigne gives LA mansion to ex-husband

Sunday, 25 October , 2009

Rockers Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley, who are going through their divorce process, are splitting up the assets and the latter is getting the LA mansion.

Last week, Avril signed over the deed that says that multi-million dollar Sherman Oaks home will go to Deryck. TMZ.com reports that the 25-year-old singer, who filed for divorce on October 9, has named her ex-husband the new "sole and separate" owner of the house.

But the house also came with a lot of debt - there are still over a million dollars left on it to pay off.

*Runway: Balmain

My favourite show of this Fall is definitely Balmain, that's why I kept the best for the last. Christophe Decarnin's Fall collection for Balmain almost seemed like a continuation of the spring collection, which was very rock n' roll and had some of the same similar statement silhouettes.
The sexy excess of the 80's continued this Fall in an abundance of crystals, sequins, studs and obviously: shoulder pads XL.
The collection is designed in shades of black and white, accented by four pieces of violent electric blue, and completed by uniform suede, silver-buckled boots. Christophe Decarnin knows how to put on a show and boy did he deliver!

*What do you think?*
